Molecular Dynamics Machine (MDM)

Molecular Dynamics Machine (MDM) is a special-purpose computer for large scale molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. It is composed of two special-purpose computers, MDGRAPE-2 and WINE-2, and a host computer. It has a peak speed of 78 Tflops, which is 6 times faster than the world fastest supercomputer in 2001. We got the Gordon Bell prize in peak performance category in 2000 for the MD simulation with MDM. In 2001, we achieved 35 Tflops MD simulation with 67 million atoms, which we believe the fastest calculation performance in molecular dynamics simulation in the world now.
